I have been fortunate enough to enjoy a hugely varied career.
Armed with my Computer Sciences Degree from Leeds University, I began my working life in a French financial institute before moving to CiTi Bank, London. My role took me to New York, Hong Kong, and Paris. My clients put their trust in me for support on technology strategies, business planning, and forecasting where key future growth areas were best to invest.
Working in growth, innovation and strategy has remained a constant throughout my career, including the launch of two successful technology businesses of my own. I’ve grown a business from six to 72 people in five years with five offices globally. My team has won technology innovation awards. I was instrumental in developing the algorithm for Microsoft Teams.
I have lived the highs and lows of being a business owner. I have been exhilarated by working in high growth and at pace. At the same time, I have been exhausted by a heavy workload and the responsibilities of running a business, and juggling those commitments with family life. I can wholeheartedly empathise with the challenges my clients face.
As a Bradford boy, I grew up surrounded by strong, hard-working, open and friendly people. I see that same sense of community in Chesterfield where Northern graft and a willingness to support others go hand in hand.
My connection to the town began when my daughter, Rosa, was performing at the Pomegranate. Perhaps it’s down to the rhythm and awareness I’ve gained from practising Ashtanga yoga for over 20 years, but I know when I’m in tune with a place, and it has certainly been the case with Chesterfield.
I see my work in the area as a ten-year investment. The town certainly has the talent; I want to transform the way business owners work so that they derive the best benefit, and pleasure! from the businesses in which they have invested so much.
It was my own attendance at an ActionCOACH GrowthCLUB seminar that gave me the clarity I needed to change my own business. Over the course of 12 months and with the help of my Coach, I put in motion a management buyout; allowing my senior team to take the business to the next level and for me to exit and move on to my next challenge.
Working as an ActionCOACH offers me the best opportunity to help others through their business journey, whatever that may be.

But I will listen intently and, as a result, guide you on where I think your energies need to be focused. I will help turn your ambitions into bite-sized chunks of activities, and without blowing out your candle or losing momentum.
How we Measure Impact
We put in place weekly and fortnightly strategies to test and measure what’s working. It could be looking at the cost of client acquisition, time management or money coming in, money coming out; putting in place corrective actions where needed.
